Why can't we get good football game coverage year round?

Even the NFL doesn't show enough TV/primetime games for me.

Whether AFL, European, or something like the USFL or XFL. Is football not popular? It seems to me the popularity would warrant it or is it possible we could burn-out with to much in our face? I would like to take the chance.

Hope you are having a great night

Next year you're going to see two games a week pretty much every week from the AFL. They want to do a Sunday night primetime game almost like the NFL does its Sunday Night games, except the game will be the feature of the week. Honestly, I think they should do it on Friday night, not Sunday night, as the league has always been a Friday night league. It was just a commonplace in Orlando... 7:30 PM on Friday night, time to turn on the Predators game. But regardless, you'll get more AFL action next season. Now with the local contracts as well, almost every AFL market will get to see their team locally just about every week.

Guru, The AFL used to be a specialty of mine also. I followed very closely after the birds moved to Indy, but I am sure you can understand this. I lost the time that it takes to keep up with player personnel on teams. That is the key to the sport in my opinion. The specialists are the key along with the QB position. All other is important and is easily noted if you can watch the games. Now, with no direct TV here and only a game a week on it is boring to try and keep up. If the AFL was to become more of a spotlight, I would be much happier. The loss of the birds cut out most of my ability to watch and view how teams performed.

It's when they move these teams that the AFL loses fans. Though Indiana didn't supports the Firebirds very well, the same sob story has happened in several places... Especially in Albany and Iowa. It's the part of the AFL that sucks with all of the teams that move and fold.
